Even after a burn on the surface of the skin has healed, the regeneration of the skin is a long way from being complete.
The fragile, new skin is very sensitive and needs extra nourishment and care. The barrier function is not yet optimal, so that a lot of moisture is lost and the skin remains sensitive.
Zones that have been burned can still itch from time to time. The regeneration of the skin, depending on the depth of the burn, may take several weeks or even years.
Appropriate, extra gentle and special skin care is
recommended.
